This being the headline European motor show of 2019, the buzz word from the majority of manufacturers in Frankfurt has been ‘electrification’. Mini Electric, Volkswagen ID3, Honda e, you name it, if you’re not in the electric game you’re nowhere. But to show Hyundai has its finger on the EV pulse, too, the Korean firm has shown a new electric concept car, named simply the 45.
Little about its journey to production is known at this stage, of course, other than the new concept takes the shape of a compact family hatchback, sporting a rear end full of animated LEDs illuminating the Hyundai logo in wonderfully retro ways and using its ‘first model from the 1970s’, the Pony with its distinctive sloping rear end, for styling inspiration.
