Mazda South Africa has officially unveiled the Mazda CX-30 compact SUV. The vehicle was first revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2019 and launched internationally in April 2019. This new compact SUV forms part of the CX Range and slots between the Mazda CX3 and Mazda CX-5 much like the Volkswagen T-Roc squeezes in between the T-Cross and Tiguan.
Following the launch of the all-new Mazda3, the Mazda CX-30 is the second model in Mazda’s next generation line-up. The CX-30 combines the bold proportions of an SUV with the sleek profile of a coupe, its styling is an evolution of Mazda’s KODO design philosophy, while it’s cabin promises to remain practical and comfortable.
The model line-up consists of three spec derivatives, offered in front-wheel drive with an automatic transmission only. The Mazda CX-30 range will be powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated SKYACTIV-G engine, which puts out 121 kW at 6,000rpm and 213 Nm at 4 000 rpm.
Every car across the range comes standard with LED Headlamps with Auto levelling; Driver, Passenger, Knee (Driver), Side & Curtain airbags; Head-Up Display (HUD); MZD Connect infotainment system with an 8.8-Inch Display Screen; Apple Carplay and Android Auto and offers a choice of nine exterior colours. Active and Dynamic grades feature 16-inch grey metallic alloy wheels, whereas the Individual grade features 18-inch silver metallic alloy wheels. The exterior is matched with a comfortable, premium-feeling interior that includes a driver centric cockpit, centre console and door paneling.
The Active and Dynamic grades will feature a dark grey cloth seat trim with black and navy blue accents on the dashboard. The Dynamic grade will also be available with an optional greige cloth seat trim. The Individual is equipped with black perforated leather seats and will feature black and brown accents on the dashboard. The Mazda CX-30 comes standard with a 3-year unlimited kilometre service plan, a 3-year factory warranty, a 3-year roadside assistance and a 5-year Corrosion Warranty.
Pricing begins at R469 000 for the Active, R499 000 for the Dynamic and R540 000 for the range-topping Individual.
